Fairsend for industry and engineering
Exchange CAD models, drawings and manufacturing data encrypted with suppliers and partners.
The situation
CAD models, manufacturing drawings, bills of materials and quotes are trade secrets and often several gigabytes in size. They go to suppliers, inspection bodies and customers, partly abroad. Email systems reject such files, and freely available transfer services lie outside IT control. If drawings reach the wrong party, or links stay open for a long time, this affects know-how, confidentiality agreements and possibly export requirements.
How Fairsend helps
Large engineering data from Team
Up to 100 GB per transfer, including whole folders. If the connection drops, the upload resumes where it stopped.
Geo-Lock from Pro
You restrict downloads to certain countries. If the location cannot be determined, no download is possible.
Four-eyes approval from Team
A second person approves the transfer before it leaves the company.
Audit log from Team
Security-relevant actions in the team are logged. This supports internal reviews.
REST API and webhooks from Team
Automate transfers from your own systems and get events such as downloads reported.
Request data from suppliers
Suppliers upload files encrypted through an upload link, without an account of their own.
Suitable plan
Team
€49.00 / month
or €490.00 per year
- Up to 100 GB per transfer
- Available for up to 365 days
Team includes large transfers, Geo-Lock, four-eyes approval, audit log and API access. For individual requirements, Enterprise is available by arrangement.
Working as a team
Engineering, purchasing and sales work as a team with roles and a shared address book. Owners and admins set permitted countries and expiry periods as defaults and can make four-eyes approval mandatory. With the company login, staff sign in through Microsoft Entra ID.
For details on how encryption, storage and deletion work, see the Security page.
Frequently asked questions
Does Geo-Lock replace export control?
No. Geo-Lock restricts downloads based on the location of the connection. It can support your review, but it does not replace it.
Which file formats are supported?
Fairsend transfers files unchanged, so STEP, DWG or native CAD formats work as well. Whole folders can be sent too.
Is Fairsend a PDM system or a project room?
No. Fairsend is a transfer service, not an archive. Version control and storage stay in your own systems.
Can suppliers access without an account?
Yes. No account is needed to download or to upload through an upload link.
What does the proof of delivery add for drawings?
It shows the complete download per recipient and contains the SHA-256 checksums of the files. This lets you trace which version went to whom.
How do I send from Outlook?
The Outlook add-in uploads files and inserts the download link into your email. It is part of the plans with API access, Team and Enterprise. Four-eyes approval and recipient code apply when sending by email through Fairsend.
