The situation
Hospitals and laboratories exchange discharge letters, imaging data, surgical reports and lab results with referring physicians, follow-up providers and patients. This is health data under Art. 9 GDPR, and it is subject to medical confidentiality. Many departments make do with CDs, fax or private cloud services when files are too large or the recipient is not connected to their own infrastructure. With many staff, it becomes hard to keep track of such routes.

Referring parties and patients send you documents through a card on your website. Each submission becomes a request of its own.

Team includes large transfers, roles, four-eyes approval and audit log. For large institutions with many seats, Enterprise is available by arrangement.
Working as a team
Departments work as a team with fixed roles, and owners and admins see all team transfers. Password protection, recipient code and four-eyes approval can be made mandatory centrally, and defaults such as expiry period or permitted countries can be preset. With the company login, staff sign in through Microsoft Entra ID.

Frequently asked questions
Does Fairsend replace our hospital information system, PACS or the telematics infrastructure?
No. Fairsend is a transfer service and is not connected to the German healthcare telematics infrastructure or to hospital or imaging systems. It complements the exchange with recipients outside these systems.
How does the company login work?
You register Fairsend in your Microsoft Entra ID and give us the necessary details. The sign-in itself then takes place at Microsoft. Accounts are not created automatically, and only existing team members are linked. Two-factor authentication set up in Fairsend still applies.
Are there sign-in providers other than Microsoft?
Not at present. The company login supports Microsoft Entra ID.
Can workflows be automated?
From Team, there is a REST API and webhooks. With them you connect Fairsend to your own systems. Transfers through the API are encrypted with AES-256-GCM.
How do we involve our data protection officer?

How long does data stay with Fairsend?
Until the period ends, which you set within the limits of the plan. After that, the files are deleted automatically. Proofs of delivery are anonymized after the period of the plan.
