Fairsend for dental practices
Send X-rays, CBCT data and intraoral scans encrypted to labs, referring practices and patients.
The situation
X-rays, CBCT images and intraoral scans are health data and quickly become too large for an email attachment. Dental laboratories, orthodontists and oral surgeons nevertheless need them at short notice. Then data carriers are mailed, or data is shared through private cloud links that stay reachable for a long time. Treatment and cost plans and expert reports also contain details that are subject to confidentiality.
How Fairsend helps
Large imaging data from Premium
Up to 50 GB per transfer, including whole folders with DICOM series or STL files. If the connection drops, the upload resumes where it stopped.
Password protection from Premium
You tell the lab or patient the password by phone.
Request scans and X-rays
Through an upload link, referring practices, labs or patients send you files encrypted, without an account of their own.
Proof of Delivery
You see when the lab or the referring practice has completely downloaded the files.
Custom expiry from Premium
You decide how long data stays available. After that, it is deleted automatically.
Suitable plan
Premium
€9.90 / month
or €79.00 per year
- Up to 50 GB per transfer
- Available for up to 30 days
Premium includes large transfers, password protection, reminders and a custom expiry for exchange with labs.
Working as a team
Several dentists and the practice team use shared transfers and an address book for labs and referring practices on the Team plan. Roles regulate who may change what. Owners and admins see all team transfers.

Frequently asked questions
Which file formats can I send?
Fairsend transfers files unchanged, so DICOM, STL or PDF work as well. Recipients then open them with their own software.
How large may a transfer be?
That depends on the plan. The limit of your plan is on the pricing page. For very large CBCT series, it is worth looking at the higher plans.
Can the lab download the files several times?
On the paid plans, yes, until the period ends, unless you set a download limit. On the Free plan, a transfer is available for one complete download.
Does Fairsend replace KIM?
No. Fairsend is not connected to the German healthcare telematics infrastructure, whose secure email service is called KIM. It complements the exchange there where large imaging data or recipients outside of it are involved.
Do the images stay stored at Fairsend?
No. When the period ends, they are deleted automatically. Your documentation stays in your practice system.
What happens if a transfer is interrupted?
If the connection drops, the upload resumes where it stopped. After an interruption, select the same files again in the same browser, and Fairsend uploads only the missing parts.
