The situation
Reports to expert assessors, consultation reports, applications and diagnoses are among the most sensitive health data there is. They belong to the special categories under Art. 9 GDPR and are subject to professional confidentiality. Even the fact of a treatment is confidential. Many practices work alone and without their own IT, and an email attachment stays in mailboxes permanently. A misaddressed transfer can have serious consequences for the people concerned.

Working as a team
In group practices and training institutes, the Team plan offers fixed roles and a shared address book. Owners and admins see all team transfers, so you should assign roles deliberately. Password protection can be made mandatory for the whole team.

Frequently asked questions
What does the notification to the recipient contain?
The notification is an ordinary email with a link. Therefore do not put names, diagnoses or hints about the treatment in the message text.
How do I pass on the password?
Ideally in person or by phone, not in the same email as the link. A lost password cannot be restored, and you then send the documents again.
May I communicate with patients through Fairsend?
You decide that case by case and under the rules of your professional law. Clarify consent and procedure with your professional chamber or your adviser. Fairsend is a sending service and not a platform for therapy or video consultations.
Can anyone see when the recipient downloaded?
You, as the sender, see this in the proof of delivery. For it, Fairsend stores time, IP address and recipient. Proofs of delivery are anonymized after the period of your plan.
Is the Free plan enough?
For a single transfer to one recipient, yes. There, a transfer is available for one complete download and is deleted afterwards. Password protection is available from Premium.
Does Fairsend replace my documentation?
No. Fairsend is a transfer service, not an archive. Your documentation stays in your own systems.
