What Fairsend Can Do

Encryption in the browser

Files are encrypted in your browser with AES-256-GCM before they are uploaded. On our servers they are stored in encrypted form only.

Automatic Deletion

When the retention period ends, files are deleted automatically and permanently. On the free plan, right after the first download.

Password Protection

Protect sensitive transfers with an additional password. The recipient then needs both the link and the password. It is safest to send them through separate channels.

Recipient code

For sendings by email, the recipient confirms their address with a code before the download. The proof of delivery records this.

Drag & Drop Upload

Add files and whole folders by drag & drop. You do not need an account for your first transfer. Up to 5 GB free, up to 100 GB on paid plans.

Fast transfer

Data is sent over several parallel connections. If the connection drops, the transfer picks up where it stopped.

Email or Link

Send files by email to one or more recipients, or create a download link and share it yourself. When sending by email, you confirm your address with a one-time code.

Request Files

Create an upload link for others. Clients or partners use it to upload encrypted files to you, without an account of their own.

Resume uploads

If an upload is interrupted, select the same files again in the same browser. Fairsend only transfers the missing parts.

Outlook add-in

Send large attachments directly from Outlook as a Fairsend link.

For administrators: deployment through Microsoft 365

Real-Time Tracking

Every transfer has its own tracking ID. You can follow the status from creation to download and get an email as soon as the recipient has downloaded the files.

Proof of Delivery

At the start of every download, the time, IP address and recipient are logged and stored as a check value together with the SHA-256 checksums of the files.

Custom Expiry Times

You decide how long files stay available, from 24 hours to one year. After that, all data is deleted automatically and permanently.

Geo-Lock

Restrict downloads to specific countries or regions, for example to meet compliance requirements.

Reminders

If a recipient has not downloaded, they automatically receive one reminder. You get a notice before expiry. Can be turned off per sending.

Preview

Images, PDFs, audio and video can be viewed directly in the browser after the download.

Encrypted in the browser

Messages are encrypted in the browser with AES-256-GCM before they are sent.

Self-Destruct

Messages delete themselves after reading: immediately, after 1 hour, after 24 hours or after 7 days.

Link Mode

Share messages as an encrypted link, no email needed.

Temporary File Storage

Store files and folders encrypted for a limited time, with expiry dates and folders. You can send directly from storage.

Encrypted Filenames

File names are encrypted in the browser with AES-256-GCM as well.

Send Directly

Select files in storage and send them through the familiar transfer form.

Team Management

Teams with fixed roles: owner, admin, member, read-only. Email invitations, fine-grained permissions and an overview of all team transfers.

Contacts & Address Book

A shared address book with colored groups. Import large recipient lists via CSV and start transfers straight from the address book.

Four-Eyes Principle

A second person has to approve sensitive transfers before they are delivered. In regulated industries such as finance, law and healthcare this is often required.

Custom Branding

Your logo, colors and tagline on every download page. Your clients see your brand, with Fairsend running in the background.

Modular Add-Ons & Audit Log

Add seats, storage or recipients to your team as you need them. The audit log records every security-relevant action, for internal compliance and external audits.

REST API

Automate file transfers and messages via the API. Everything is encrypted with AES-256-GCM.
